IBCtv (Immigrant Broadcasting Corporation)

IBCtv는 이주민방송(Immigrant Broadcasting Corporation)의 약자로, 이주자에 의해, 이주자를 위해 만들어진 미디어 플랫폼입니다.

이 방송은 이주자들께서 자문화를 떠나 타문화권에서 여러 이유로 살아가면서 고향의 언어로 민족 구성원들 상호 간의 소통 공간과 한국문화를 자국의 언어로 배울 수 있는 장이 필요하다는 인식에서 출발하였습니다. 

사실 이주자들의 삶의 질을 개선하고 한국사회의 일원으로 문화접변을 이루어 정서적 공감대를 형성해야 할 필요성은 날로 높아지고 있습니다. 

그럼에도 이를 해결할 다양한 노력에도 아직은 미흡한 실정입니다. 
이에 먼저 이주자 공동체를 중심으로 이주자들을 위한 이주자 방송을 시작하게 되었습니다.  

한국내 거주하는 이민자들은 270만명을 넘어 계속 증가될 것으로 전망되고 있습니다.  그런데 그 이주자들은 한국사회 적응과정에서 다양한 어려움을 경험하게 됩니다. 
이는 사회통합의 커다란 저해 요인으로 작용되기도 합니다. 미래 한국을 어둡게 하는 사회불안 요인이 되어가기도 합니다. 

따라서 본 방송은 이주자들을 위한 나눔과 교제의 공간이 필요성에 응답하려는 일환으로 준비된 이주자 소통의 마당입니다. 
여기에서 이주자들은 자기 언어로 한국 사회에 적응하는 생활이야기를 나누게 될 것입니다. 이러한 과정을 통하여 한국 문화의 다양한 경험들을 공유하게 되고, 아직 익숙하지 않은 새로운 문화로 접근을 자연스럽게 적응하게 될 것입니다. 
더 나아가 그들의 송출국 국민들도 이 방송에 참여할 수 있는 교류의 장이 될 수 있을 것입니다. 감사합니다.

IBCtv stands for Immigrant Broadcasting Corporation, a media platform created by immigrants and for immigrants

This broadcasting initiative was born from the recognition that immigrants—living in a foreign land, away from their home culture—need a shared space where they can communicate with one another in their native languages and also learn about Korean culture in the language of their host country.

The need to improve the quality of life of immigrants and to foster emotional solidarity as they become part of Korean society is growing day by day. Despite various efforts to address these issues, the results have not yet been sufficient.

In response, IBCtv has launched a broadcasting network centered on the immigrant community itself - a platform dedicated to immigrants, operated for the benefit of immigrants.

Currently, the number of immigrants residing in Korea has exceeded 2.7 million and continues to rise. However, many of them experience various challenges in adapting to Korean society, which can become a significant obstacle to social integration and, at times, a potential source of social instability that clouds the future of Korea.

Therefore, IBCTV aims to serve as a space of sharing and fellowship, responding to the pressing need for open communication among immigrants.

Through this platform, immigrants can share their everyday stories of adapting to life in Korea, told in their own languages. Through such exchanges, they will not only share diverse experiences of Korean culture but also naturally and meaningfully engage with the unfamiliar aspects of a new cultural environment.

Furthermore, IBC aspires to become a cross-cultural exchange hub, where people from the immigrants’ home countries can also participate, fostering greater understanding and friendship between Korea and their nations. Thank you.
